Description

The successful candidate will lead the selling of renewable energy products and services to wholesale customers from wind and solar projects across North America.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead sales activities, with senior management to enter into long term supply agreements with utilities, municipalities, and other customers from new and existing wind and solar energy facilities.
  • Work closely with Senior Management on financial models to determine feasibility of wind and solar energy projects.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and coordinate with development and acquisition groups to identify new renewable energy facility opportunities.
  • Lead RFP bid response and bi-lateral negotiation efforts.
  • Negotiate long-term power purchase agreements, build-transfer, and/or renewable energy credit transactions.
  • Establish and maintain customer, and key individual, relationships.
  • Support development and acquisition activities in analyzing investment opportunities.
  • Interact with internal colleagues and external consultants to develop the necessary assumptions to value investments and analyze potential risk factors.
  • Help develop energy and environmental attribute pricing structures and risk analysis.
  • Work with internal colleagues and consultants to evaluate and/or develop long term forward electricity, natural gas and environmental attributes price models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years experience in energy sales and marketing activities.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy markets in North America.
  • Proven experience in negotiations, problem solving, analytical skills, managing commodity risk issues.
  • Track record of successfully closing complex transactions.
  • Strong understanding of the various energy market rules, state RPS and REC trading markets across the US.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze technical information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based business software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
